The News Cafe is more than just a dive bar! We are located in the heart of historic downtown Pawtucket, RI. We’ve always embraced the community and take pride in our eclectic mix of regular patrons. The past few years, we’ve transitioned our focus to being venue for all types of music and entertainment. We welcome you to come and enjoy a drink or two, attend a show, or host your own event.

Our goal as a venue is to always support the community and give everyone a space to perform, especially new and emerging artists. We Always give 100% of the door money collected directly to the artists. We never take any cuts! With this in mind, we ask those who book an event with us to consider promoting, and helping make each show feel special. We would like each experience here to feel memorable, safe and fun! THE NEWS CAFE IS A 21+ VENUE.

The way to book a show at News cafe:

• Look at our calendar of events. Pick a few open dates you might be interested in. Be specific.
• Fill out our booking form.
• We are booking complete shows only, do not ask to be added to a show
• A complete booking request form is a proposal for a full event. This includes what other bands you have in mind for the bill. (That may change we understand, but we need an idea of what your event will be) do not put “TBA”
• Include as many details about your event as possible
• We are prioritizing local bands at this time. If you are an out of state/ touring band your event proposal MUST include 2 or 3 local bands.
• Ratio for booking is TWO or THREE locals for any ONE out of town band. No exceptions. (*local means 30 min radius from News cafe) boston, western mass, cape, CT, etc do not qualify as local
• Submit your request form and we will reply asap. A submission is not a guaranteed hold a date.
• Keep in mind WE ARE A 21+ VENUE
• When you hear back from us to confirm your date, we will send our venue contract and details.
• There is now a 100% refundable deposit required to book an event. This will be returned upon completion of the show.
